• Welcome to 20s Plenty for Sunderland!

This is the official website for the 20s Plenty for Sunderland Campaign. Our aim is to introduce wide area, mandatory, 20mph speed limits in all residential areas of Sunderland and the wider community in the hope that it will make our streets more accessible for children, pedestrians and cyclists.

We do not want 20mph limits on ALL roads only those that are considered urban residential areas or are used frequently by vunerable pedestrians. We therefore hope to make the transaction as easy as possible for motorists and not include traffic calming measures such as speed bumps.

We are a local group of the national 20s Plenty Where People Live Campaign and much of the information featured on this website was taken from there website; http://www.20splentyforus.org.uk/

Please feel free to browse the website and sign our petition !!!

    Thank you very much

Hello 20s Plenty for Sunderland. I live in a busy residential area of Sunderland and understand the need for 20mph limits. I am also a driver who uses my car often and i have been known to go over the speed limit in the past especially when i believe no one is around such as late at night. I however do not see these speed limits as a bad thing and certainly shouldnt be an issue for careful drivers. I just worry about the minority of drivers who cannot stick to a speed limit and will obviously depise the idea of 20mph limits. I would like to let you know that this is a life saving cause and i will most certainly be spreading the message about the 20mph zones and the 20's Plenty for Sunderland campaign!

      Yours,

      Andrew
